James Bond movies have
always been linked with first class and customized automobiles just like bread
and butter. Since 1964 with "Goldfinger," where Sean Connery rode the
Aston Martin DB5, the 007 franchise has become forever linked with premium
British autos. When Mr. Bond's latest film, "Spectre," hits U.S.
theaters this Friday, it will include a veritable who's who of the U.K.'s top
car makers. It is said that one of the movie’s centerpiece car chases is set
against the Coliseum, the Tiber River, and the Vatican.
Premiere Date:
James Bond 007 film
"Spectre" opens in theaters in the US on Friday November 6 2015, (that's tomorrow).
Cars:
Automobile brands
featured in the 2015 Spectre include the Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar C-X75,
Land Rover Defender Bigfoot and of course the ...
Aston Martin DB10.
Aston Martin DB10.
Spectre Cars in Action
Range Rover Sport SVR
The Range Rover Sport SVR
will be featured in a scene which was filmed on a mountain in Austria in the
upcoming James Bond movie, "Spectre".
Description:
While this modified SUV might seem more at
home cruising the streets of London, the Range Rover Sport SVR takes on snowy
mountainsides of the Austrian Alps during what looks to be a climactic chase
scene.
Land Rover Defender
Bigfoot
A couple of Modified Land
Rover Defenders are featured in the James Bond film, "Spectre." A
pair of Defender Bigfoots (maybe Bigfeet) will appear in the same chase scene
as the Sport SVR
Description:
These Defenders are
billed as the fastest and most powerful Land Rovers built to date. Tricked out
by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations team to include 37-inch
off-road tires and enhanced body protection and these Land Rovers are bad to
the bone.
Jaguar C-X75
The Jaguar C-X75 is
mainly featured in a chase scene through the streets of Rome in
"Spectre".
First outing: the 2010
Paris Auto Show.
Description:
This gas-electric hybrid supercar is the
fastest Jaguar ever with a projected top speed of more than 200-mph and 0-60
mph time of less than 3.0-seconds.
Production Status:
Experimental Use - Non Commercial.
Jaguar would not actually produce the C-X75 commercially
Vehicle Pilot:
Mr Hinx, the movie’s
antagonist (David Bautista)
Aston Martin DB10 (or
should I say “The Chosen One”)
Its seductive shape is
meant to indicate the styling language the brand will be adopting as it
prepares the rollout of its eagerly anticipated upcoming new models over the
next few years. The vehicle, like all automobiles in Bond’s unrivaled fleet,
is absolutely gorgeous. Bond's signature Aston Martin will be featured most
prominently in a chase scene set on the moonlit streets of Rome alongside the
Jaguar C-X75.
Description:
The DB10 looks sleek, sexy and powerful, and
am quite impressed to see how far it has come away from the DB5 and we can't
wait to see how it influences the forthcoming DB11.
Vehicle Pilot:
James Bond 007, the
movie’s hero (Daniel Craig).
Destruction Factor:
Taking a look at how many
millions of dollars in Aston Martins the production roughed, rumpled, and
straight-up wrecked while making Bond’s 24th film, Gary Powell, the movie’s
chief stunt coordinator said millions of pounds worth of Aston Martins were
wrecked in Rome where a new record was set for smashing up cars on Spectre as
the devastating damage done was valued at about $37 million. Aston Martin
created 10 of the DB10 two-door coupés for the latest Bond instalment, 7 of
which were reportedly destroyed during filming as these cars were going into
the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. One entire night was shot for this
wreckage just to record about four seconds of film.
According to Matthew Clark,
Aston Martin’s American communications manager, they were very excited to
continue the relationship the Bond and Aston Martin brands shared and they
remained a proud partner of the Bond film franchise. The Aston martin brand is
celebrating its half century with Bond, which started with the iconic DB5 and
now the DB10 giving a glimpse into the future design direction for the next
generation of Aston Martins.
Well, new Bond movie, new
Aston Martin. That gives us at least two things to look forward to from 2015
into 2016.
