In the United States of American a bright Nigerian has just pumped up our pride. More than 60 East Stroudsburg High School South seniors just received scholarship awards during a special presentation Thursday. Awards were presented for students planning to pursue certain college majors and for standout performances in a variety of areas including academics, athletics, the arts, languages, school/community service, citizenship, patriotism and social skills. Some students were recognized for overcoming certain obstacles in life, such as family tragedies or acclimating to a foreign culture. Nigerian-born Andrew Udeh received the Most Improved Student Award from Barbara Clark of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's Monroe County chapter.
